Alfa Romeo presents the renewed Tonale, which kIt has become more characterful and sporty. The factory promises an even better driving experience and even more dynamism.

"For Alfa Romeo, beauty is never an abstract concept, but rather arises from the intersection of harmonious proportions, the elegance of surfaces, the muscularity of lines and technical functionality. It is a “necessary beauty”, where every detail has its reason, helping to define the character of the car. The new Tonale fully embodies this philosophy, building on the brand’s unparalleled heritage and reinterpreting the stylistic features that have made it a worldwide success.”

From the outside, what is visible is a wider track, the emblem has become concave – inspired by the historic 33 Stradale and the GT 2000 – and the 19” or 20” Trilobe alloy wheels have become even more beautiful.

The interior has also been updated, with new red leather and two-tone black and white Alcantara upholstery. The gearbox has become more functional, and even the gradient mood lighting is new.

The driving experience comes first

The driving experience is enhanced by a perfectly balanced chassis with optimal weight distribution, independent McPherson suspension with sporty calibration at the front and rear, four-piston Brembo brakes and the most direct steering ratio in the segment, 13,6:1. These solutions are complemented by advanced technologies such as the two-stage valve control (DSV) electronic suspension or the alternative frequency selective damping (FSD) shock absorbers, which provide an optimal balance between comfort and handling, or the brake-by-wire system, also found on the Giulia and Stelvio, and the all-wheel drive of the Ibrida Plug-In Q4 AWD. The Alfa DNA range selector allows the car's character to be adapted to the conditions and driving style.

The new Tonale has been further developed with an extended track that helps reduce body roll and understeer, and with Euro 6E-bis compliant engines – with a total output of 175 hp and 270 hp for the Plug-In. The Tonale Hybrid is powered by a 175 hp four-cylinder engine with variable geometry turbocharging (VGT), combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive, exclusively developed for the Tonale. For those who prefer diesel, the 130 hp 1.6 is available with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

The top of the range is represented by the Q4 Ibrida Plug-In versions, with electric all-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The range includes two power levels: a 190 hp model and a more powerful 270 hp model.

Technology and security

The 12,3-inch Telescope digital instrument cluster and the 10,25-inch Alfa Connect infotainment system with customizable multitasking interfaces make it easy to manage all car functions, providing a smartphone-like experience. Connectivity is complete thanks to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Alfa Connect digital services and OTA updates that keep the software constantly up to date.

The 5-star Euro NCAP rating speaks for itself. Level 2 driver assistance features such as Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Driver Alert, Traffic Sign Recognition with Intelligent Speed Assist and Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection are all extremely useful, although sometimes it's good to switch everything off. The high-resolution 360° camera with "drone view" and semi-automatic parking make manoeuvring even easier.

Santo Ficili | CEO of Alfa Romeo : “With the new Tonale, Alfa Romeo reaffirms its commitment to Italian excellence through innovation, design and driving emotion. This evolution is not just about performance – it is about creating a deeper connection between car and driver, where technology enhances passion and every detail reflects our heritage. Behind every new Tonale lies a story of commitment and precision, made possible by the extraordinary teamwork of our suppliers, dealers, sales and after-sales network and all Alfa Romeo employees. Their passion and commitment are essential for this launch to be a true success.”
